What to Expect When You Visit

Our Sunday morning large group meeting typically begins at 10:10 a.m. and finishes around 11:30 a.m. We have a few announcements (we’ve got a lot going on), and we have a period of music/songs that encourage each other and express our feelings to God. We have a time of “communion” where we pass bread & juice that represent the body and blood of Jesus and remind us of our forgiveness that he paid for with his own life. We also have thought-provoking and engaging messages or personal stories based on the Bible and our own encounters with God.

Dress is casual and there is guest parking reserved for you at the front of the building. When you enter, you’ll be greeted and given a program for the morning. Free coffee is waiting for you in the lobby near our Connection Counter where you can receive more info about our programs and ministries.

We take up a collection of money each week. This money is for the financial support of the Lakewood Church ministers and the various programs that we offer to our church and our community. You don’t need to feel embarrassed to let the collection basket go by if financial partnership is not something you’ve considered yet. Many of our church members give through electronic means and they let the basket pass by too. www.lakewoodchurchofchrist.com – (Give tab at top of page).

One more thing – hearing assistance devices are available for use. Just check in with the sound booth staff at the rear of the auditorium.

What About My Children?

We have a staffed nursery for infants (just ask an usher or greeter to direct you there). We also dismiss our kids to PEAK time during the main message. PEAK is a Bible based activity time for our kids up to 6th grade that’s held in another part of our building. We’ll make an announcement when it’s time for them to head to PEAK and then you can get them when the assembly is over.
